June 14, 2007 - Governor Gibbons Signs Assembly Bill 148
 Legislation includes provisions to limit sales of products used to create METH

Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto serves as the chair for the Governor’s Working Group on Methamphetamine Use. The group was commissioned by executive order by Governor Jim Gibbons in January 2007.

The 16-person group is tasked with studying the impact of methamphetamine on the state’s law enforcement, corrections facilities, social services and community services. The group must make its first presentation addressing possible solutions to the problem to the Nevada State Legislature no later than April 1, 2007. A final report from the group must be delivered to Governor Gibbons by December 31, 2007.
